FurReal Friends StarLily My Magical Unicorn Review

Mama Says Play September 13, 2016 @ 2:00AM
StarLily the unicorn with her magical fruit

Seven year old Elsie believed with all her heart that unicorns are real. She drew pictures of them and pointed them out to her mom and dad every time she saw one on TV or in one of her many movies. But no matter how hard she wished for a unicorn of her own, none would come to live with her.

All that changed, though, on Christmas morning. Elsie's eyes grew to the size of saucers as she stared at the beautiful unicorn with wings that sat under her tree, waiting so very patiently for Elsie to come and play with her.

Elsie ran to Starlily the magical unicorn and the first thing she did was pet the winged horse. Elsie couldn't believe how soft the unicorn's fur felt, but that wasn't the biggest surprise for Elsie. Starlily moved her head to look at Elsie, she hummed and neighed just like the horses Elsie saw at the county fair, her horn lit up, and her wings flapped.

As far as Elsie was concerned, all the others presents paled in comparison to her new unicorn. Finally, she had the friend that she had longed for, and Elsie and Starlily were inseparable from that moment on.

I wouldn't have wanted any other toy if StarLily My Magical Unicorn had been around when I was a little girl! She is an incredibly interactive toy, meaning she really does interact with children. She moves her head and hooves, she speaks and makes cute noises, her horn lights up, and she even flaps her wings. It that wasn't enough, she even interacts with a free game app.

My oldest daughter was absolutely crazy about both unicorn and pegasus mythical creatures, and often combined them into a single animal we call the pegacorn. I am absolutely positive that this plush animal would have been at the top of her Christmas or birthday list, and even now that she is older I suspect she secretly wants it!

This FurReal Friends StarLily My Magical Unicorn review will discuss the features, pros and cons, and other aspects of this toy to help you make an informed buying decision.

Posable - Her legs can be posed into several positions so that she can sit or lie down.

Mobile App - You can install a free app for mobile devices that lets girls play with the plush toy and app in an interactive way.

What Age Range Is This Toy For?

This toy is aimed at girls who love stuffed animals, unicorns, and pegasus creatures. The recommended age range is 4 years old and up, and I think it would be liked by children up to about age eight or nine.

Why People Like This Toy

Parents like how their children interact with the toy. She is really well made and soft to the touch. The hair can be brushed and braided, something girls love to do. Girls fell like they have a magical pet because of how she moves.

The StarLily app makes playing with the toy even more fun. Both the app and toy are easy to learn how to use, and kids love how responsive she is to their touch and actions.

Pros And Cons

  • Adorable to look at.
  • Simple to use.
  • Reacts to touch.
  • Wings flutter, eyes open and close, horn lights up, and she makes a variety of noises.
  • Material used is soft to the touch.
  • The SugarBerry fruit can be easily lost but you can solve this potential problem by tying a ribbon around it and attaching the ribbon to the toy.
  • Batteries not included, but that is fairly common for toys like this. You might want to buy four C batteries if you are giving this as a gift so it can be played with right away.
