LEGO DUPLO Super Heroes Batcave Adventure 10545

“Always be yourself. If you can’t be yourself, be Batman!”

That was the motto that three year old Mark lived by. Sure, there are plenty of other super heroes, but there was only one for Mark. His parents didn't know what it was about the Dark Knight that captivated their son's imagination, but they loved watching him pretend to be Gotham City's vigilante as he caught imaginary bad guys.

When Mark's parents saw the Batcave Adventure they knew they had to buy it for him. Mark enjoyed building things with his blocks and they thought he would like putting together this playset.

They were right. Mark could hardly contain himself as he opened the box that contained the pieces. His little fingers carefully put each brick exactly where it belonged with just a little bit of help from his mom and dad.

It took all of about one minute for the Batcave to become Mark's favorite toy. He spent all of his free time playing with it, taking Batman on adventures in his flying Batmobile, and putting Catwoman in jail for any variety of crimes that Mark thought she had committed, such as stealing and eating Bruce Wayne's chocolate chip cookies.

Who doesn't want to be Batman? For children, their imagination allows them to spend more time being who they want to be than those of us who have reached the challenges of adulthood. The DUPLO Batcave Adventure playset is a fabulous way to introduce the young child in your life to the wonders of being Batman.

This toy provides excellent value for providing young children with not only fun and an opportunity for the imagination to really take over, but also for developing and honing their find motor skills and creativity. The options for different scenarios and set-ups within the Batcave Adventure set should keep little ones engaged and entertained for many hours.

This LEGO DUPLO Super Heroes Batcave Adventure 10545 review will discuss the features, pros and cons, and other aspects of this toy to help you make an informed buying decision.

What Age Range Is This Toy For?

The manufacturer recommends the DUPLO Batcave Adventure for children from 2 to 5 years of age. However, some parents have found that older siblings enjoy playing with it as well, especially those who love Super Heroes.

Why People Like This Toy

While reading through the reviews for DUPLO set 10545 I noticed that this toy was particularly loved by children – both boys and girls – around 4 years of age. The fact that DUPLO allows young children to develop their ability to build from such an early age, and the fact that the accessories and appearance of the Batcave provide a wide scope for the imagination, makes this toy a hit with parents as well as children.

The reviews I read enthused that the children for whom this toy was bought loved it. Parents also liked the fact that there are plenty of pieces to the set, which gives young kids a lot to do and keep track of as well as holding the child’s interest. The shooting cannon was especially popular among young children.

There are many different ways to put the Batcave together, which allows for increased imagination and creativity. An example of this is using the grappling rope and hook inside the Batmobile instead of on the cave itself. Parents who have bought this toy for their children were glad to find that, while the cannon fires a missile effectively, it is not very strong and therefore will not cause damage to children or your home.

Pros And Cons

  • With 59 pieces there is plenty to keep a young child busy without them feeling overwhelmed.
  • LEGO DUPLO quality means sturdy, durable pieces.
  • The cannon fires, but not hard enough to do any damage – perfect for young children.
  • There are many variations that can be built using this kit, which means more flexibility, opportunity for creativity, and extended playtime.
  • The movable parts make the set more interesting.
  • Helps children to develop their fine motor skills, imagination, creativity, and recognition of colors.
  • The only con I could find has to do with the lack of plain bricks, which means it can’t be used for building anything else. However, since there are so many different variations and combinations for building the Batcave Adventure, it still provides plenty of variety and creative opportunities, and children do not seem bothered by this at all.
